What is Vision Catching?

The Fictional Version

Vision Catching is a concept I’ve been developing as I’ve been writing my novel.  I’ve been coming up with this fictional world where there are beings who are half-”energy of an idea or creativity” and half-human. They take human form and have a directive of helping us, the originators, hold on to our true purpose and carry it out. There are of course some of them that turn evil and greedy — they are half-human after all. In the first novel we follow one of these young Vision Catchers whose been set out on his first Vision Quest and helps guide a woman away from her emotional abusive marriage and into a place of joy.

The Real-Life Side of Vision Catching. The struggle is real.

So, that’s the fictional version.  But I’ve also been — and still am— developing a framework so that we can lean on each other and rely on ourselves to catch our own visions for our lives. The real-life concept is still a work in progress, but if you start to follow me now, we’ll work together to figure it out.

The first thing I’ve figured out is a Vision to be caught isn’t a goal. The definition of a Vision is more akin to a Vision board. The vision is figuring out what would be a life of joy for you.

Catching it and grasping hold of it, isn’t something you can do alone. That’s a huge reason why there are so many unfinished novels, so many start-ups fail, so many dreams go unfulfilled.  People try to go it alone and I don’t mean people literally sitting at their desk working remotely, playing video games, and watching TV. Even if they are surrounded by responsibilities of a job that buries them, demanding and negative spouses, children that need them — they’re still alone in reaching for their vision.

Baby steps. Not taken alone.

The first step in Vision Catching and figuring out what you want in life in my evolving definition of Vision Catching, is reaching out to someone positive, encouraging, who believes in you. Cheerleaders, who can get to know you and sometimes—many times — see things in you that you can’t see in yourself. It took me awhile to ask the right questions to really find what makes my heart sing and find the people to help you get there.

I want to speed up the process for you. That’s why I’m creating a community, that I’m calling the Vision Catching Hive. So, we can do this thing together.  And I don’t mean just another online group.  This will be a space where we will have weekly interactive non-recorded webinars, an inspirational book club, and also hive chats.

What is a hive chat? It’s a 1-1 conversation with a stranger who wants the same thing as you.  It’s an accountability session, cheering you on, helping you to keep going. During our hive chats, you will be paired with someone who is on this journey with you. We will ask you some questions to pair you with most compatible — but may have an opposite week slipped in there so that you can meet all sorts of people.
